When we arrived in Squaw Valley we stopped by Olympic Bootworks for a fix for Jill's backcountry boots. You can still park overnight in the Squaw Valley parking lot with a Overnight Parking Permit which you get from the Security person who patrols the area. The next morning we picked up her boots for trying on later in the day.

We used the last free tickets on our Mountain Collective passes for Squaw Valley. They did NOT have an overnight freeze, so we got there early and skied high as the sun moved around. They had many express lifts, the tram, and Funitel gondola running. If it was groomed we skied it -- within our tolerance level. Yes, lots of mileage and few other skiers and boarders. We stopped because the snow was getting slushy and sticky, and Jill had to try her backcountry boots; they still needed more work, so we took them back to the shop and the boot guy did another fix. Now Jill has 'happy feet' and is ready for the backcountry.
