And he next plans to do Mt Adams and Mt Rainier! What a great way to ascend! Sadly, at age 74, I think it might be too late for me to learn to kite-snowboard! I feel lucky to have hiked 187 miles so far this year, with almost 52,000 feet of elevation gain, plus 43 climbing days, up to five or six 5.10c routes, on my artificial right knee and right ankle!

Impressive feat and cool video ( vimeo.com/214415259/2ff741f34d ), but kite-skiing, and presumably kite-boarding, is specifically banned at Mount Rainier and other designated Wilderness:

yep, It's pretty hard to find spots to do this sport in the PNW, especially without a sled.
