Toured up Frosty Mtn in Manning Park, BC, a stone's throw away from the 'Murican border on Sunday

Rode this NE face:

Some other big lines in the area. I'll be back here mid-winter next season for sure

Heading to the summit ridge

On our way to the summit, trying to stay away from cornices

On the summit! This is apparently the highest peak in Manning Park

Great snow for mid April!

Pinwheely lower down, but still pretty fun

It's spring!

Wow, that looks like some pretty rad terrain. Great pics, thanks for sharing!

very cool!  have been in that beautiful area only once in the winter, and gaped at that slope on Frosty and others around there.

thanks for the report, would love to see others from Manning and Canada...

Cool report, possibly an interesting way to access peaks in the N Pasayten. How was the access for you? Just an easy jaunt up the ol' logging road? http://www.hillmap.com/m/ag1zfmhpbGxtYXAtaGRychULEghTYXZlZE1hcBiAgICo5-qRCAw

Thanks all! Kamtron, not sure where the N Pasayten is, but yeah that's pretty much the route we took. There's no logging road, just a summer trail that is obviously now covered. The first part of the approach in the morning sidehilling through steep trees on refrozen crud was a bit of a pain in the ass, but the route is pretty straightforward. We actually rode Frosty E1 and not Frosty Mtn proper. The latter is in the 2nd pic. There are some gnarly lines off that peak that I'd love to hit at some point, but would probably require some cornice cutting and rapping. We descended and exited via the drainage and creek just west of the uptrack. The creek was open lower down which made for some sporty riding. Mid-winter, this would be an amazing tour as the creek would be totally covered which would make for a long continuous fall line shot from the peak right down to the lake.

@hedonaut: If you missed this 12/13 TR from Manning, here 'tis. Pretty place, though less steep in aggregate than some other places.

The gnarliest terrain we could see was south of the border. Castle was memorable in that respect.

Thanks for the additional context, Charlie, had not seen that report.

These reports definitely move the area higher on the list for next winter...esp given the opportunities on both sides of the border.
