Today was the opposite of what yesterday sounded like.  2" fresh overnight got blown around to make all surfaces nice and soft.  Blue sky with puffy clouds turned the fresh to butter fairly quickly and then whipped cream by days end.  Campbell basin skied smooth and slightly heavy (for a guy recently returned from the Rockies.)  Southback was open but we felt no need to hike given all the untracked choices. Green Valley bowl, Powder Bowl, and Campbell Basin all skied without scratchiness in the light winds.  There was some stickiness on flats and most everywhere below 5500' between 10-12, but later obscured sun must have remedied that because it stopped.  The light got flat (for this old guy) after 130 and rain began around 3pm.  Pay parking area was tiny, as was the crowd and number of cars not even filling lot A.  No soup or any hot food today as far as I could tell, just country club skiing.  Fresh tracks on groomed slopes still possible all day.  We miss the hamster and his more detailed reporting.
