Crystal - 03/17 Happy St. Pat Day

Short version – You should have been at Crystal yesterday(glad I was)…colder feeling, windier, icier, more folks on the slopes (though still not many), maybe better groomers (at least on FQex), greyer….If you were glad you didn’t go yesterday, you were even happier you didn’t go today.

More words – Arrived typically early to a typical A lot parking, early load on CHex, but the line was gone in a couple of minutes. Early morning almost sun (with the moon still visible) rapidly disappeared…flatter light conditions.  What was still soft yesterday was rock hard today. Lucky Shot seemed to go truly curling conditions faster and kept going that direction while I was there.  #1 enjoyed FQex grooming more today.  Started spitting snow by 10am…wasn’t motivated today, so we quit extra early. Looks like the snow is falling this afternoon and should improve things…but Crystal will need a bunch to recover the off piste – or a lot of warm sun (or rain to smooth things out again).

Other – Soup looked to be Chicken Noodle and Triple C at CB lodge, but not really sure.  Pay lot was nowhere near full, cars in B and C – but not many.  Drive up and down was at speed and quiet…didn’t notice any elk.
