Trailbreaking got more and  more  intense as we climbed away from I90. But so nice to be drawing on the blank canvas all day long. It was somewhat easier in the big timber but I  would  not say "easy" except for short  tree bombed stretches. But  so worth  it! While the snow above 5K was deep and great, it had a touch of stiffness on west and south aspects, and we found it  a bit lighter feeling and faster from a little under 4K up to 5. There were some very small (dinner plate sized, 3-4" thick) slabby bits that broke and slid from wind rolls up near a ridge crest, and fast light sluffs shot ahead and trailed behind while skiing maybe 30-ish degrees. Some big tree bomb craters in the big trees (and some intense "snow showers" as a few bombs fell nearby), but the skiing was still excellent in there!! Easy to dodge the craters.

The skiing was pretty good right down to the highway,  though the snow was clearly a bit warm below 3500.
