Powder party is back. Good skiing to be had in the alpental valley despite the warm temps. Approx 6-10" of heavy pow made for playful skiing even if it meant it felt like skinning with lead weights on your feet. Crust/corn(?)/saturated pack underneath seemed to be insulated by the new snow and hadn't refrozen fully in most areas which, combined with the dense new, meant the turning conditions vastly exceeded our low expectations. Test sloped revealed stubborn instability in the new snow, which, combined with the recent addition of water, kept our ambitions in check. All in all, nice to get back in the soft stuff again!
We went over to wright mountain across snow lake. Considerably better snow over there....strange. We also had lots of slow moving snow with each turn.....wet slough management?
That was the most tired I've been in a while doing not even close to a huge day. Extra weight with sticking snow and sandpaper skinning!

Powder!
