AK: Anchorage and Valdez March '17
« on: 02/19/17, 06:31 PM »

I will be staying w/a buddy in Anchorage then onto Valdez if anyone will be up there? I will be up for 4 weeks. Buddy has that time off as well.

We both are experienced splitboarders, climbers of Rock and Alpine - he has the Ice climbing exp, both have Avy 1, WFA, have all gear and roped travel and ice axe exp... Also have sled access exp...

Plan is to splitboard as frugal as possible... Tour in the Chugach, do Hatchers Pass, Tour off of Arctic Valley, wait for the Northface to open at Aleyska for a day or two of riding, then on to Valdez...

Might check out Tailgate Alaska (TAk)... have another buddy in a yurt along Thompson Hwy further out than TAk w/a sled... neither of us have a TAk ticket but I have more friends w/sleds that will be camped at TAk and be a part of that spectacle...

So if your in the area and want to tour send me a PM...

btw I bought a round trip ticket SEA to ANC on Alaska Air for 25k miles and $12 (twelve dollars) if that beta helps any one...

It's too good to pass up - I went up in 2008 and 2009 - had the invite since then...

- Mike
