February 7, 2017 Timberline

We arrived at the Timberline parking lot in blizzard conditions. They had received 2” overnight and another 3” during our visit. The Magic Mile lift was closed due to the winds. The lower half of the mountain is in the trees so all of the lower lifts were running – and it was powder. The snow parks opened, but the upper parks had no access without the Magic Mile. Mt Bachelor had great powder with limited visibility; today the visibility was better, but the powder was denser. It is a senior powder judgment call... After a couple of hours we started our long drive back home to Redmond,WA. After 17 days of driving and skiing in OR, CA, and ID, we had to get home and be responsible and get ready for our next trip later this month when we'll meet our East Coast son and grandsons for some skiing in CO.
