Headed out with gscruggs and Andrew for what we had hoped would be a bluebird day in Stevens Pass. We chose Jim Hill as it features a north-facing sheltered descent and a good amount of vert. There was a wide enough pullout at the Cascade Tunnel east portal for a few cars without any No Parking signs.

On the ascent, the skin track forked off the forest road early for some quicker vertical gain. We unfortunately followed this track as it ascended a few hundred more feet climbers left into the trees only to descend back down a half mile down the track. In hindsight should've just stayed the course parallel to the creek which ended up being our exit route. Visibility up on the ridge was limited so we didn't make a push for the summit. Fun, untracked, mid-heavy powder turns featuring a few cm of surface hoar all the way back to the creek made for good times. Beware open creeks and somewhat dense brush at lower elevations.
Hi toph,
Thanks for your report. I've still never been all the way to the top of the ridge, but had a lot of fun on Jim Hill Mtn. Glad you got out for some mid-week turns!
