The most important part of the TR is that I'm still skiing, and that I've made the 70 year-old club. Yes, downhill and backcountry skiing is still enjoyable. Plus, we have skied in numerous countries on several continents. Crystal was fun to ski with Jill who's even older than I am! I like the background of Mt. Rainier in our photos as we have both climbed and skied it. I looked at the temperature at 5am and it was obvious Crystal was the place to enjoy packed powder and reasonable temperatures in the 20's as it was zero degrees at Stevens and Snoqualmie Pass. After 44 years I still enjoy skiing and plan on doing it for many more years.

Zap! That's amazing for you two! Several of my ski friends have notched ski days after turning 90 recently. As for Fred, who is twenty years my senior, I've seen him at Vertical World, bent over and hobbling--so it's hard for me to see Fred skiing--but I look forward to videos! Some of my elderly friends have given up skiing, since they don't want to risk an injury that would end their hiking careers. I've not skied for awhile for the same reason, not wanting to endanger my hiking: I organize and lead three hikes a week, year-round, for a group of over 200, mostly over 70. I also organize three rock climbing sessions a week, at Vertical World, for a much smaller, younger group. Now to see if I can get my right foot (new knee, new ankle) into my old leather telemark boot!
