Jan 12, 2017, - Full moon tour - Snoqualmie Pass

Not posted a TR this year but this one is worthy given its rarity.  The perfect combination of stable powder snow, clear skies, a full moon, cold temps and 2 ski buds to go tour with is a tough one to achieve.  Checked the moon azimuth and picked the appropriate slope that would be facing the moon.  We were not disappointed, such fun and beautiful to be out in the full moon.  There was some wind slab up higher from a couple of days prior, up to around 3" but mainly 1" but this was fairly isolated.  The ski down was fantastic conditions top to bottom.  We did see a party of 5 setting out on a different route as we got back to the car around 9:30 so they would have had a late night!
