Crystal - 1/13

Slightly warmer temperatures and mostly clear skies. What a difference a couple days makes. Mostly firm everywhere. We didn't make it out to the north chair, but skied everything else that was in-bounds. The worst: all the doors on the front side with a close second being the rest of the front side. The best: Upper E to Eagles drop. Still some nice stashes of snow. Also, Bear Pits was nice. So, it was a lot of cycling Bear Pits interspersed with runs to the bottom.

Traffic Soup: Light and at the limit both ways. No elk. However, was very surprised to see a car upside down on the boulevard on the way out. Did several brake tests and traction was good, so not quite sure what happened.

Surprisingly crunchy and firm on the aspects that got wind earlier, or sun. Just slightly around the corner it was good to great. The groomers ended up skidded and firm. The Frontside/Doors terrible. “Left Side” Top-2-Bottoms were great. Very shaded aspects kinda held up (Bear Pits, Eagle’s Drop, Terminator), but we didn’t leave much - sorry. Powder Bowl later in the day, skier’s left, was a big disappointment, which was odd as Valley Bowl skied awesome. Worst snow of the year, and a GREAT DAY after poking around (says more about how good the snow/weather’s been. Conditions today would have been considered awesome the last 2 years). I don’t think much will be good with the three day weekend crowd. Unless they smooth out the east/south aspects. The upcoming forecast isn’t looking good.
