Runcle and I skied the road on Mt. Walker yesterday.  The forecast hinted at some fresh snow, but that was not the case.  The road was solid ice for 1/4 mile from the 800' start, and we carried skis to about 1600' before skinning to the 2805' viewpoints.  Ice creepers looked necessary for those who want to hike the trail.
Surface was ice at first, then crust.  Horrible descent but the views were surprisingly good peekaboos through the clouds.  At one point we saw a 6" fog layer form over the entire surface of Hood Canal, then dissipate in minutes.
This has been a good year for low-elevation snow, but 10 days ago would have been a better bet for turns here.
A couple of scintillating shots for your viewing pleasure!

You could have used today's snow--assuming that Walker got any. N

Awesome, that was not a route I was expecting.
