Crystal 01/08

I sat out the morning session and had reports of complete chaos.
All upper mountain lifts closed.
Power out in GW and running on Generators.
Place was packed and FQ wasn't working properly.
A disgruntled PNWBrit( banned) stopped by my house on the way home and lamented the carnage.
Ever the optimist, I headed out at 12:30 PM.
Line on CEX was thinning out by then as the masses headed home.
Never had to wait long at FQ by skating to uphill side, singles line.
Befriended and telemarker on a pair of G3 Reverends( an old ski I still own and love). It was his first day ever at Crystal so I showed him some of local stashes and classic such as TLC, Dead Cat Gultch and Upper-Boondoggle and we had a hell of time riding an ever increasing amount of fresh snow as the blizzard raged.
Super day despite the earlier problems.

Traffic was 41 mph on the way home. Only one lunatic in a red pick-up HAD to try and overtake everybody!!

Sounds like a typical day at Crystal. I asked my friends how their day was and the one word report was "Sucked!"

Any word on the soup? The Summit's been slinging a tasty potato bacon lately...

Soup reporting is ddk's tenure and I wouldn't dare trespass.
I don't think it sucked at all... I had a great afternoon..storm skiing is fun!

Not so fast, my friends, I got there early and booted up in style (indoors) and went to stand in line behind all of the cool locals who get to put their shit down in front of me without waiting in line because they own the whole fucking hill or something. Rant over, I nucked all of the good stuff on the lower hill , Bear Pits was real good. It was windy on top, so skied it low and I bailed when the power went, I, saw the two big Boss guys as I left and the Red Coat Boss all talking. not bad for a lower MT day.

Back East your shit would be thrown in the creek. If you want first chair , stand in the fucking line.

Since we are ranting,
Single "Chat and cut " in the Gondi line= acceptable.
Double" Chat and cut"--- Ok but only if its a couple joining another couple.
Triple " Chat and Cut"---No way... you're getting called out.
