December 25, 2016, Summit West

I beautiful sunny , no wind day with about  5€ old powder on the sides of the groomers. There were about 200 plus folks at the base. It was a family Xmas Day in the mountains where many folks have never seen snow.  The slopes are ready for the masses on Mondays opening of all the Summit areas.  It is always interesting to hear folks talking about that" old guy" going up the hill. I think I am in numerous photos and €œvideos€.  ;)

When you skin about 1-200 vertical you are by yourself.  It is 1pm and I notice the tracks of 2 other skinners sometime today. The skiing was really nice with the untracked powder €œdusty€ and the groomers untracked.  The hard part of the day was the last 100 feet to avoid the climber/skidding/butt and belly descenders. The next storm arrives Monday evening and powder days.
