We went up Kendall knob,  hoping to find something soft in the trees.  No luck,  everywhere was the same 2 to 3" of beautiful light fluff,  on  top of a very supportable crust.

The upper clearcut skied really nicely, and if you turned lightly,  you didn't hear the crust. But once the trees tightened,  we (I) thrashed,  skidded,  and scratched down to the trees.    It was really great survival skiing practice.  Lower down,  the turns in the big trees were better, especially where there were some small clearings linked together.

Once we hit the trail,  the luge run to the parking lot was a Christmas present.  (Beware a couple of creek crossings).

Two laps up the West groomers worked the torture kinks out of my knees,  and a delicious hot chocolate from the little drive through sweetened the drive down.
