WTB: Skis-178, 105 underfoot, 6lbs or so
« on: 12/16/16, 05:57 PM »

Looking for a new mid winter ski.  I love my BD Zealots on the way down.  Not so much on the way up.  All specs could go one way or another by a few centimeters, millimeters, and/or ounces:

Length: 178
Underfoot: 105
Weight 6.5 lbs or less

*Bonus: If previously drilled,  a 5 hole Dynafit pattern at 314 BSL would be ideal

Think G3 Carbon Zenoxide 105 or a Blizzard Zero G 108

Let me know if you have anything that fits the bill.

Bump.  Santa brought me all kinds of good stuff; however, he did not buy me a new, lighter ski.  Still looking.

Damn, Jersey, the 105s are too long and the 177s to narrow.  Thanksl for the offer, but The quest continues.  Anybody else with some G3 carbons or the like they want to sell?

Dog I have a pair of Hart Outback 105's that are 178 in length, mounted with Dynafit Vertical ST's for my 28 boot size.
I am thinking of selling them as I have another pair of the same skis I mounted with Ion 12's but in a 188 length and if I like the bigger ski I will sell the 178s.
The Outback is a medium stiff ski with a bamboo wood core and sidewall construction which I have been skiing since they came out in the 102 waist and moved on to the 105.   A light solid powder and all mountain killer of a ski  132-105-123.

Not six lbs but under 8 I have a pair of 2015 Coombacks 104 177cm that have been only skied a half dozen times and are recently tuned. Currently mounted with original NTN outlaw which I want to keep . Will sell for $150.

Didn't care for the Coombacks?  Also in the market for a capable lighter weight 105+/- under foot ski to put my Dynafit Radicals on, one that won't let me down on some softer in bounds days.  Wasn't sure what to make of the Coomback!

Sorry for the slightly OT!

Coombaks are a fantastic all around ski, great for touring, but this is a near  duplicate of a ski in my quiver. No reason to have them collect dust.

Well, I trucked my Zealots all over Rogers Pass and survived.  My legs are like tree trunks now.  The experience did not change my opinion.  I need to lighten up. So, still looking.  Giving this a bump in case some has something to offer that fits.

Bump.  Got close on a pair of Coombacks but couldn't make a Seattle pickup work.  Hauling the Zealots up the Zipper and Fly last weekend was less then ideal.  So, Still looking...

If a Dynafit Denali or Cho Oyu would fit the bill- there are several pairs on fleabay that could be made work for you.

If you're looking for a ski that's ~105 waist, I assume you want something to surf on. None of the skis you are looking for will fit that bill very well. Most skis in the weight range you are looking for will be a fairly specialized tool.

I have 177 Dhaulagiri with Fritschi Vipec 12 @ 8lb total with 99 underfoot with 316 bsl.  A better skier than me could rip those up I'm sure.  However, only a couple of short days on them so not sure I want to sell but its something that would fit your bill.

All weights and sizes are negotiable.  Skis I have been looking at/considering are:

Line Sick Day Tourist
G3 Zenoxide Carbon 105
Blizzard Zero G 108
G3 Findr 102
BD Helio 105 (this ski is about perfect in all regards except price)
BD Route 105
Coomback 104
Faction Agent 100

I haven't paid much attention to Praxis or DPS or some of the smaller specialized companies because of the price.

I really don't want to go over 7lbs and any less than 100 underfoot, but could be talked into anything for the right price.  I would prefer a bit of tip and tail rocker with traditional camber underfoot.

Thanks to everyone for the offers and input.  I had to go a little heavier, but I found a good deal and couldn't pass it up: Brand new LINE Sick Day Tourists for $307 (including shipping) out of ski shop in Great Britain (Freeze Pro).

As an aside, somehow, I ordered them yesterday (Sun.) at about 6pm and they will arrive tomorrow (Wed.) at 4pm.  This is unfathomable to me.
