Dec. 15, 2016 - Alpental, Back Bowl Opening Day

Light crowd for what management was attempting to dub a "Powder Thursday" - the problem is, the powder got wind affected and crusted over yesterday so many a padded seat denizen was bemoaning the higher ups' decision to remain shuttered on Tues. Fortunately, the lower reaches were mostly spared the wind's fury and at just a hair past noon the powers that be swung open Elevator for the first time this season. Coverage was surprisingly good and exits were markedly free of their usual debris. Called it quits after my 5th lap through the zone and I joined the hoards on I-90 attempting to make it into the city in time to catch the neon green-clad Seahawks on TV.
