January 4 - Mirror Lake T,D,and H Ridge - Mt. Hood

Headed up to the Mirror lake/Tom, Dick & Harry Ridge area on Wednesday, trying to avoid the weekend masses. Snowpack was quite lean the first mile or so, but skinnable. Good snowpack at Mirror lake, and conditions improved while heading up the ridge, but windy from the East, and a good deal of wind deposited snow on the West side of the ridge. After scouting the ridge for the best line, stopped at the small cornice in the middle of the ridge for a spot of tea, and dove in. Four inches of fresh, on top of a spongy layer. A few rocks still poking up, but real nice all the way to the lake. Made second run a little further West, and conditions were the same.
