Thanks to MRNP for leaving the White River Road open despite a hazardous dusting of snow at the campground. There were quite a few parties up there enjoying the cold, clear weather, and generally nice snow yesterday. Wind crust/board prevailed above 9500ft and below 8. In between was perfect. The skiers right side held the best snow - on my previous trip the left was better.... slightly different wind directions I suppose.
That looks great! These early winter days when the roads are still open are so nice.
Can someone explain what is the deal with the road? Will NPS keep opening it for the weekends as long as there is no snow on the ground?
