Lot of people chasing the forecasted ~20" of new snow at Camp Muir yesterday. Of course, ferocious winds on Saturday made things a bit more variable, but there was still great skiing to be had.
We had a bit of a mishap in the parking lot when it turned out that one pair of boots was shod with DIN soles instead of tech soles. After a short game of musical skis and a the revelation that the new Radical 2.0s have a monstrous range of adjustability in the heel, we were off; some with much longer or shorter skis than they were used to.
Pan Point had thin coverage, which required a few carries. We were socked in between there and the bottom of the snowfield proper, but had bluebird conditions above. The drifts on the snowfield were sometimes soft, sometimes bulletproof, which made for interesting skiing.
