Skinned from cold springs up the south side winter route to the summit, crampons needed past the lunch counter. Couple mountaineers around, we were the only skiers to proceed past the lunch counter. Some ok skiing off the summit, half the time skiing rime ice. Wind buffed snow for the first half of skiing off Pikers Peak, second half was blue chattery rime ice. Good fun softned snow below the lunch counter with some pockets of fresh snow.
How's the road hangin in there for 4x4 truck?
The road will probably only have a skiff of snow on it in the parking lot after this heat. There was snow just before the parking lot when we were there.
