You Devils! That looks so good! Beutiful turns, Blower snow, and you still got to Rolff your skis!! Thanks for the post!

very envious!    that looks fantastic.... thanks for posting!

any issues with thinly bridged (or open) crevasses midway up the glacier?

Pete, No issues with thin bridges or hidden cracks. There were a few slumping/depressions hard climbers right, but those were easy to steer far clear from.

Think I got a contact high!
What's the road situation? Looks like you walked from the gate at White River

Tree cutting had the gate closed in the am.  It was open on our way out.

Closed again next Tuesday for more tree cutting

what a rad video of a great day!

pretty cool to ride the whole IG in pow with no road sledding required.  i'm glad i was able to get out of work and represent as the token snowboarder.

here's a few photos and a 30 second video...

Amazing stuff. Myself and my 2 brother just moved to Seattle and want to get out and do some splitboarding next weekend. would love to connect with some locals to show us the way.

As of yesterday (probably got obliterated the day after this post) the pow is gone. It has returned to the more typical volcanic fare of ice, breakable crust, and schmoo. Skins on is already likely pushed back to 6000 ft from 5300 ft. The scenery is still of course top notch.

That looks insanely good. So much better than when I was up there in mid-August.

Anyone know what the deal is with White River campground in the off-season (e.g. now)?  Wondering if I can park there overnight.

Road status as of today is the road is open to White River Campground, estimated closure is on Oct 31.
https://www.nps.gov/mora/planyourvisit/road-status.htm

You can park there overnight but you still need wilderness camping permit (self issued at White River Ranger Station).
As for camping in the campground itself when it is closed, well that is a bit of a grey area.
