Fall Color Roadtrip

in the PNW. A few weeks it's gone ~ then white. One night stay over. Romantic would be nice.. Vine Maple reds and Aspen yellows ~ too much to ask for?

There are a couple that come to mind, I really like the Naches Tieton loop, usully great colors, east side west side vegetation, nice mountain views. I can't really suggest any good places to eat or stay, but if you have time Bail Breaker in Yakama has great beer, and for a darn good burger try Miners a Yakama institution. Then there is the North Cascades loop again east side west side vegetation, perhaps a distant view of the Tammaracks turning, a worthy side trip would be Harts Pass, plenty of short or long hikes along the way. Twisp or Winthrop have plenty of places to stay, and eat and I am a fan of the Old School House Brewery. That's my two cents.

If you do take jtack's advice and head over Chinook Pass to Yakima there's a great brew pub on the highway before you get to Naches called Bron Yr Aur that serves up really nice craft beer and the best pizza in Central WA.

I have not been out and about that much, but the colors on the east slope of the Cascades are in perfect form. I have been hiking in the Mission Peak area and the Tammeracks are in perfect form.
