September 12, 2016 O.P. Patches
« on: 09/13/16, 11:03 AM »

I coaxed my wife out the Obstruction Point road with a combo of gorgeous early-fall weather and carside turns.  We had a nice hike to Elk Mountain, then I overwhelmed a mini-micro patch with 10 runs.  You know it's short when you can ski back up without skins   Roll Eyes
The standard late-season patch in the basin just before the end of the road was okay looking, but ended in steep rocks.  I  used the tiny snowfield just past the outhouse.  Small suncups never warmed, but that's why it is still there.

You know it's short when you can ski back up without skins...I used the tiny snowfield just past the outhouse.

This, my friends, is serious dedication to the sport!

...then I overwhelmed a mini-micro patch...

I almost always run out of juice before I'm able to "overwhelm" the slope. Sounds like I've been picking too big of slopes! Smiley

I nominate this for best TR Sept, 2016.

No, I'm not a telephone solicitor.  I ski with my heels free.
