Thanks to the mid-July snowstorms, SW Chutes were still skiing quite nice on the last day of July and then again the first day of August.

Summit skiing was the usual misery on Jul 31, so didn't bother on Aug 1.
South Climb also looked pretty bad for skiing.  For skinning, very sensitive to snow hardness, i.e., skinning up through the suncups on Jul 31 didn't seem as bad as on Aug 1 given the earlier start the next day (~8:15 vs 9:25).

Returned from ~7,600' to Lunch Counter via a moderate to steep skin (which I finally also skied on Aug 1 -- fun!), then trivially short portage, followed by short low-angle skin, and finally medium-ish portage.

Lunch Counter skiing was low-angle bumpiness but not sticky.
Crescent [not-really-a] Glacier was the usually goofy fun.
Short portage brought us to ~7,300' for our transition to the dusty-as-always hike.

And for those not into car camping, alas my favorite lodging in town:

... still has not reopened from the January fire.

In June we stayed at:

... which was -- kinda strange.
(Although the view of the east side of Adams is great!)

This time we stayed at:

... which was -- kinda strange.
(Although I hear the brook in back is inspiring.)
