Hiked for an hour to snow then good the rest of the way. Left Piker's about 1:30 on a sun blasted day with a couple sticky patches at first then deelightful the rest of the way. Wanted more. A lot of climbers/glissaders but only saw two other pairs of skiers. Was surprised how crowded the parking lot was on a Tuesday night.

The burn is eerily cool to hike through.

thanks for the great photos; did you ski SW chutes or south side? If the former, how much shenanigans (carries, etc.) to get back?

I just posted some beta here:

We returned from the SW Chutes by first skinning from ~7,800' (or lower since I wanted to avoid the sidehilling) to Lunch Counter with just one short portage and one trivially short portage.
From the Crescent [not-really-a] Glacier, at first I kept cutting left but then just followed a promising snow ribbon, which brought me to within justa couple minutes of hiking of the South Climb & RMT junction.
