June 4 - Snow Dome - Mt Hood

Great fun on Snow Dome yesterday. Dome itself skied amazingly well all the way down the slope just south of Langille Cliffs to the Elliot. Hit snow out of TJ at 6000 ft or so; just at tree line. Crossing the glacier was straightforward. Skied over 10 or so small cracks (6"). Checked out a few larger ones. The ski out, down Cooper past the Hut back to treeline sucked (mix of grit / dirt / pollen made for the grabbiest conditions I've ever seen).

Approach via bike up Cloud Cap road was totally unnecessary, gratuitous, and fun. Well, the descent was (~20-25 min from TJ to parking lot). Best way out of a ski trip I've ever had. The way up was tough. (gear note: remember cycling bibs next time).
