I was able to park at the first switchback past the PCT trailhead, and then walk the road to its end. A few hundred feet further upon coming over the little ridge into the basin, the skinning began. If you have a giant 4x4 as someone did today, you can make it one switchback short of the end.
Anyway, the skiing on the steep was good. Lower angle stuff was sticky except where the pollen had been scrapped off, which luckily had happen and so I just kept following the little "slalom" course and avoided low angle sticky. Some pics posted to facebook hell.
