Skied to Skyline Ridge east, open slope facing Yodelin. Performed three compress tests. First one did not fail after 30 hits. Next two failed immediately after isolating the column. Shear surface was an icy crust 12-14" down. The first test might not have failed because it was not adequately isolated. Needless to say, we did not ski the slope.
Found good snow on the north facing slopes above Skyline Lake and the northwest slopes toward Tye Lakes. Did not perform any compress test on these slopes, but snow was stable, even on steep aspects.
