We spent the night at a Sno Park at 5500' and woke to 38 degrees (a 30+ degree drop overnight). The groomers should be great, just follow the sun. The area closes on Monday, Memorial Day, and today’s weather was beautiful with light winds. The Summit lift was running and the ungroomed terrain was nice. I skied the groomer and stopped; Jill was off piste and I watched her having some great lines. You can traverse into the big bowl and follow the sun – it is so big and accessible at the end of the season and few folks were there. They groomed 25 runs for the day which started at 8am. The Cascade Lakes scenic byway is now open. Our backcountry and downhill friends from Bend want us to move down there. It sure is tempting... ;)

No - Move to North Central Washington! Same great weather, more backcountry choices. Mission Ridge and Stevens close by. Rivers, fishing, dry hiking and cheap housing everywhere except In Leavenworth. More of everything plus you are close to Seattle - not Portlandia....we bought a nice house 12 miles from Leavenworth for less than half of what we'd have paid in Seattle.
