May 22, 2016, Chinook quickie

It was a convenient day for May turns despite the rain and fog. There was about 1-2" fresh. We skinned the slope above the eastern parking lot to the saddle E of Yakima, and did 2 untracked but grabby short runs on the north, dropping out of the cloud ceiling.  The return side to the truck was more consolidated and not too hacked up; two fall-line laps there. 
It rained hard a few times, but only while we were in the truck.  Coverage is still solid, though the top by the saddle has bare strips that are starting to spread from the rocks.  The LR forecast has us hoping the convenience-store skiing will stay for a few more weeks.
