I went into the Cowlitz Chimneys area recently. Lots of blowdown and snow on the trail. I hiked to the head of Needle Creek before donning skis and skins. Generally pretty soft but lovely weather. My high point ended up a bit north of the north chimney with a peek-a-boo view of Rainier.
