Today provided a variety of conditions. The morning skin up to the basin around 4800' was spicy without ski crampons. 10am would have been a perfect time to ski the east facing larch forest 6400-5000'. Skin wax was very helpful for some folks above 7600'.
In the afternoon, skiing from 8600-8000' was slightly wind affected, 8000-7000' north facing slopes held 6-8" fresh powder, 7000-5000' was 3-5" wet fresh snow that was slightly grippy. Below 5000' skiing east of the creek held good soft slush with some challenging maneuvers in the forest. Dry pavement and no traffic at the trailhead provided a fun environment for après ski relaxing.
