4/9/16 Windy Acres

While driving to my cabin I spent an afternoon near Silver Peak. Since I was so late I spent the $17 and rode the Silver Firs Chair up. The snow wasn't sticky but it sure didn't slide well at close to 60 degrees. In hind sight, I should have stopped early and skied the steep avalanche  slopes above and below the trail. I pushed on as it was a beautiful afternoon and hoped it might cool early and partially freeze the slush...didn't happen. Got about 20 turns in on a steeper section of Windy Acres and then it was a slow push out. Saw a young couple coming in late who might have timed the freeze right.

Two snow machines were having their way with the slush and doing donuts and such...sad highlight of the day.
