MSH - April (August?) 7

Holy hell that was hot. Probably only got to 50 deg overnight, so snow right out of the parking lot was soft at 5 am. Tagged summit at 11, dropped back in at 1130; 930 would have been much better. Very cold wind at summit rim; it was probably 20 degrees warmer and windless a few hundred feet below. Top 1500' was great skiing, super sloppy after that. Lots of wet slide activity, cornice blocks in the gullies, etc. Quiet day on the mountain. Continuous snow is about 1 mile from parking lot and retreating fast. 86 in Cougar on the way out this afternoon. Too warm? Sure, but who cares, it was a beautiful day to be on skis in the mountains.
