April 3, 2016, Green Mtn Lookout

Two lookout visits in a week! This one is not open to public, so it was just a day trip.  The road is in good shape and snow-free to the TH. We were hoping for more snow, but the forest and the South slopes no longer have much snow left for long skiing.  The upper basin has a deep snow pack which should last for a few months.  This was the first time ski trip here for Sally and David, and the 2nd for Aki, my 8yr dog.







We were hoping enjoyable skiing on the South side, but our timing was all wrong and had to play a cat-and-mouse game with the soupy snow on steep slopes.  After some customary shwack-skiing, we found the trail back to our car. We were treated with a cold beer someone left for us, thank you! A few more pix here.
