N'ah. April fools.
Approached Shuksan via the White Salmon hoping some remnants would exist in the shade. Got suckered into traversing waaaay too early from the ski area and did some vertical slide alder descending. It was awesome-sauce. It's not continuous, but still best to just head down to the valley floor asap. There were a handful of pow turns on the glacier itself, but best snow we found was actually some heavy but very carveable "corn" on the Upper Curtis. We climbed up to the summit gully and had a look, but didn't enjoy what was showering down at 10 minute intervals... rime chunks and point releases from either side of the gully.
Saw a few D3 wet slides roll out from under the Hanging Glacier. Pretty powerful stuff.
Traversing into the WSG:
Higher up on WSG:
Stepping into the sun
Upper WSG:
Such a cool area of the mtn:
Curtis:
Slashing through the hourglass
