Today we headed to Summit Central with our friends Hillary and Dale.  I had convinced Jill to wear a Hawaii shirt, as I was doing.  She gave me 'the look', but as we were getting in the car I noticed that she had put on a  Hawaii shirt.  Yes, this is a tradition.   As most Silver Fir quad riders know, the Upper Outback has an easterly exposure and gets very warm/slushy.  So when we did that we kept the trees/shade on skier right.  Lower Outback had better shade.  Most trails off Silver Fir had good coverage.  Central Express had shade off Golden Nugget and off part of Alpine. We followed the trees on the right and had 2 hours of fast groomers.  As we were putting our skis in the car, a car parked next to us and asked 'where is the best snow' – I told her near trees at 9am and wear a Hawaii shirt.  She looked at her husband and said 'we should have left earlier'.  For sure.  Great day of spring skiing.
