Aaahhhh, the ultimate spring powder day I live all winter for....Hawaii warm from the start today, incredibly great grooming on MIFB (LS was good also, but…). Soft snow in the baking sun was everywhere to be found. PB/BP’s went off early and was worth many repeats (lucky I worked BP’s a little yesterday and also dived in early today…it was just good enough to be happy – at least that’s what the Coombas said to me). Never went north of GV groomer to MIFB early (later just the happy soft go anywhere bowl area) all the way out south to PB!!! Ouch I love this time of the year with this type of steep soft carveable go anywhere turn anywhere snow! Did just enough traffic in BP’s to make it happy fun. PB/BP’s was way to many repeats…and as the sticky flats started getting “kinda sticky” spent the mid afternoon skiing the untracked deep manky mucky boot top screamer spring powder runs down SunnySide – lordy the Coombas were happy, they just kept wanting to do it again and again…Alternated into Valley/MIFB runs – MIFB was awesome fun today, smooth soft screamers early and nice soft mushy small bumps late – great! Fun day, full on Hawaii day at the beach – thanks CD for the beverages at the top of REX!

Other – Soup at CB lodge was Tomato Bisque again (must be a conspiracy). No crowds, no lift lines, no clouds, lots of big views…and sadly not to many more locally. Parking in the A lot was typical (dang it’s the end of the season…pay folks have given up for the season)…some cars stuck in B and high C.

Another warm blue bird day. Pretty much the same as Wednesday and Thursday with the same runs being good, although Bear Pits was the best it's been all week. Unfortunately, one of our posse went down hard in the morning and ended her day down at medical. Looks like no long term damage, but doc said her day was done. Thanks JD for the ride home allowing us to stay on the mountain. So AZ, these Mai Tais are for you!

Crunched up more overnight than previous days, but that lasted only one run and helped consolidate the snow. It also meant the lightly skied areas went to slop faster. Ascended to PB early anticipating an earlier slopening. Amigoette descended PB like a boss. However, on the high speed Luckyshot back to Rex, caught an unconsolidated or over consolidated spot and a instant massive helmet to snow impact ensued. Seeing stars, flashing lights, and your future mobility flashing before your eyes, not good. Ski Patrol was concerned enough to get the medic to check the C-labeled vertebrae. OK, but she’s gonna be one sore-but-tough girl for a few days. An early trip home, and damn, missed the summit Mai Tais.
