Stevens - 03/30

Had some free tix’s from the fall ski show to use and other than dealing with 405 between Renton and Bellevue (kinda bad in the morning and even worse on the drive home) it was a pretty nice day, lots of sun, lots of soft snow as the day progressed, no lift lines. Did a lot of the areas that Quick foot did yesterday (except for DD – looked like it would have been nice top to bottom with the hot sun on it early afternoon, thanks for the timely report QF), 7th nice but all soft spring snow, Southern Cross chair line (very nice soft easy bumps and lots of fall line vert), Pegasus was still nice smooth and soft. Did the back side a little later than we should have, but it was still very nice. Early morning was mostly Tye, Hogsback and Skyline. Kehrs (new name?) was the best in the afternoon. Very sticky on the flats in the main base area (painfully sticky), need to wax up tonight.

Other – Forgot to check the soup (didn’t go inside during the lunch hour), parked in the front of the A lot about the same time we normally arrive at Crystal (it was fairly full when we left), with 9am starts life is a little more casual at Stevens, shared a locker with #1 – ouch 10 bucks…though we got in and out of it more than a few times during the day. Fun day, good views of different mountains, drive up from Monroe was very pleasant going up, but bad tourist drivers on the way down was very painful.
