Had the day off so decided to head up into kendall to check out the new snow.  We left the car around 830 and it was snowing heavily.  We took our time on the skin track and dug a small pit about halfway up the old growth to check out the crust layer, but found it to be pretty stable.  Snow conditions were 4-10" of new on a generally supportive crust layer.  Snow pack above the trees was visually very wind affected and starting to get heavier in the sun, so did not skin up it.  We skied two laps in the trees, lap one was nice and soft but high density snow.  By the time we skied the second lap the tree bombs were falling, we were seeing some pinwheels and the snow had changed to a heavy creamy texture.  We called it a day with the warming and the track out got progressively slushier with the lower section super grabby and hard to ski.  Not planning on heading back out tomorrow, I think its time to wait for some corn.
