Got an early start up Kendall from the Summit west parking lot. Snow conditions were decent for skinning with a mostly supportable crust in the clear cut and soft slushy snow in the trees. Did a lap down the southeast face in the clearcut and found a pretty tough uniform crust that the warm temps had yet to break down. The lower down we went the more fun the turns were. The sun was being stubborn to rear its shining face so rather than waiting we skinned back up to the top and headed down to the trailhead via the second growth trees. Snow was wet and slushy which made for interesting but fun turns. Saw some pinwheels from yesterday and started to see some forming on steeper aspects on the way down so figured it was a good time to stop. Great to get some fresh (almost) spring air in the pass!
