March 14, 2016, Sun Valley

After a season of thin cover so far, Sun Valley received 42" of fresh powder in the past seven days capped by 15" last night. Bluebird skies and some wind greeted us at the top today. The chutes along Bald Mountain Ridge skied fun until the warm sun made the cut up tracks heavy. Warm Spring chair served softer north facing knee deep long untracked runs, first on open slopes and then in the trees all day long. It was called by some their best day of the season. Fun start to my 2016 ski safari. Thanks to the Mountain Collective.

I've skied about 20 days there in the last 3 years waiting for a day like that. You nailed a very uncommon big powder day there. Good on you.
