March 5, 2016, Crystal BC, Spring Conditions

Wasn't sure what we would find out this weekend, worried that rain had ground down any really good skiing, but in looking at the forecast it looked like a little more snow east of the front range so we headed to Crystal for some BC.  Very conscious about the avy forecast we headed up into Pickhandle and navigated around into Silver Basin skiing some lower lines along the way, staying on mostly western slopes that were treed and generally lower angle...by 2pm the snow with any sun on it was really, really heavy so then we headed out.  All in all a pretty good day. 

We didn't see any avalanches, but you could see lots of cornice debris most likely from the past weekend, also lots of wet snow avy conditions (lots of little pinwheels on northern slopes and southern slopes.  Nothing moved that we saw or experienced.
