March 2, 2016 Snowbasin, UT

It was time for a sunny weekday in Utah, plus gas was at $1.65 gallon.  After driving for 8 hours from the Tahoe area the previous day where there were high winds, we started skiing at 11 am and picked up our freebie tickets using our Power Alliance Passes.  We love this area.  We started off riding the John Paul Express which provides access to the Allen Peak Tram (it was the start of the downhill at the Olympics).  Mt. Ogden Bowl had spring conditions.  The locals arrived around 11am, and it was the start of high speed groomer runs.  We took the Porcupine lift to access Porky Cirque which was not groomed above the lift; the wind was blowing and the lift was slow and Jill was freezing – time to layer up!  Then we rode the Needles Gondola to the base of Needles Cirque for 3000' runs back to the base.  We then did the Strawberry Traverse to the Strawberry Gondola.  It was definitely spring time everywhere – no lift lines and a suntan day.  Snowbasin is another locals resort with a 20 minute drive from Odgen.
