I'm still trying to figure out all the different types of snow, how to recognize them and describe them...it still feels like when I was learning to describe flavors of scotch.
It seemed like a mixed bag of windblown snow. Lot's of soft snow underneath with a softening crust on top. Eventually the sun went behind the clouds and it became a harder breakable crust. Down low it was wet and heavy, but still decently skiable.
You can judge for yourself what kind of snow it is from my sweet GoPro video. If it gets boring, skip to the last 30 seconds to find out how bad of a skier I am.
