When we checked at ski patrol in the base lodge, we learned they would not be working in Southback and that there was a strong SE wind.  Patrol told me when they are doing Avalanche control work there, skinning up is not allowed west of Threeway peak.

6-8" fresh snow covered our tracks from the day before between 4400-6600', with increasing wind affect above 5600', unlike Thursday.  We cut a very small localized (20'x20') 6"!windslab on a convex rollover in the trees on a SW facing slope at 6000'.  We avoided skiing large open slopes.
