As we have our Epic Local Passes we decided to ski a half day at an area we had never been to. We had gotten up at 4:00am to fly in to Denver so the half day seemed right. Driving up the steep
Snow covered state hiway was wild as we were joined by hoards of fuel hauling tankers on the curves. We dressed in the car at 8 degrees and embraced zero at the 13,000' summit. The light was flat but at least there was none of the wind the area is known for. There was plenty of snow on top but it didn't feel like a major dump had just happened. I think lots of it blows away. The trees had better light so we went down to the steep lift on skiers right. Most of this chair was rated double diamond and it was a bit steep with nice north facing snow....a very fine chair.

The bar was hopping with a large selection of good beers. Glad we came, but surprised that the area was so small. At 960 acres, it's really a local, day skiing area. With the right weather and fresh snow this area would be more fun.
